On the running list — A running list of things I have baked in various kitchens throughout the years, when I remember them. I’ve taken on a variety of baking challenges, musts, courses, and dreams throughout my days. Here I document the flavors, textures, smells, etc that I have dreamt to reality.
On the categories — The first thing I probably baked in my life was a cookie and repeated that over and over. It was simple, pleasing, and magical. Then, I stumbled upon boxed cake mixes and turned a page. Yellow cake mix is moist, tender, fluffy, and so incredibly easy. But after awhile the chapter finishes and new ones emerge around the corner. I wanted to make croquembouches and layered cakes, I wanted to laminate butter and dough, I wanted to fry brioche, I wanted to ferment, I wanted it all, I wanted to keep turning the pages. Some chapters are more loved and comfortable, some are more uncharted, some yet unknown. Nevertheless, and happily so, the list grows.
